Life changes on the streets of Bakersfield today. That’s why I’m not sticking my big toe out the door between 7am and 8am…or between 3pm and 4pm. Today is the first day of school. Somehow, here in Kern County, 175,000 K-12 students and 7500 teachers need to transport themselves to their respective sites at the same time. It’s not pretty. Every stop light, every 4-way stop and every neighborhood will have a lot more cars needing to go…now!
My writer friends are always exchanging interesting books, essays or web-sites to solve the typical writer’s dilemmas. And there are many. Mostly we writers just need to write. Every day.
There’s always some cute new thing to grab a writer’s attention to help us “get going.” The latest silly thing I saw is “Written Kitten.” Every time you write 100 words a new “kitty picture” pops up. Here’s the link and see how hard or easy it is to write 100 words. You may get on a roll and see two or three kitties. This paragraph has 100 words exactly.
(cheaters could cut and paste)
Speaking of writing and reading, there is a website with over 10 million FREE stories to read. You read that figure right. I don’t know how readers and/or writers find these places but it seems the whole world has found “wattpad.” At this point I don’t have any intention of throwing some stories up on this site, but maybe you should. Check it out, it beats getting hooked on games. And, you don’t have to go through the hassle of publishing.
HAVE A GREAT WEEK!
