T is for TOO MANY T’s

                                                          A – Z

I’m proud to be a part of a wonderful organization called the Writers of Kern. They are having a “Blog Challenge” and I’m participating. I’m writing my normal two blogs per week but challenging myself to be prompted by the alphabet. Hope you can read all twenty six from A-Z. For more good reading check out the Writers of Kern’s Facebook page. https://www.facebook.com/groups/95572300558/

T is for TOO MANY T’s

I knew I was in trouble with this alphabet thing when I got to “T.” There are so many great T-words to write about. I started at least TWENTY different T-words. I found when I started writing about T-words my writing was angry stuff.
I probably should have used the T-word THERAPIST.

The first word I encountered was TRUTH.
Something we all want and search for.

In today’s anti-intellectualism society a person is not supposed to believe 98% of the world’s scientists who know the truth about global warming. More than half of our elected governing bodies of state and nation believe in the 2% of scientists, half who are paid by the fossil fuel industry who can’t afford the truth. Here’s the TRUTH.
global warming

BTW: The next time you hear an elected official use these words…”I am not a scientist” reach over and slap him…HARD. We elect these idiots to consult with economists, lawyers, medical specialists, engineers and YES…SCIENTISTS.  It is their damn job to consult science and tell us the truth. They certainly don’t have a problem building military equipment the Pentagon don’t need and they don’t say, “I’m not an engineer.”

Another T-word is TIME.
Something we all want and search for.

Time isn’t as important to most folks as it used to be. Our families, careers, tasks, reading, studying and learning are given less time now. We are too busy posting selfies of our damn meals and re-tweeting stupid opinions that a half-assed politician has re-tweeted already.

Remember when we did other things with that FIVE HOURS?

T is for THINGS.
Something we all want and search for.

And, it seems we can’t get enough of things. Especially when we can get that thing in two days and no freight charge.

T is for TOILET.
Something in the mall we all want and search for.

T is for TOUCH.
Something we all want, need and search for.

T is for TABLE.
Something families used to sit around in the kitchen, eating, talking, making decisions, laughing… being families.

kitchen table

Something that took the place of the above kitchen table.

T is for THOUGHTS.
Something we all do, need to do more of and sometimes do too much.

Thought happens when we think. Sometimes thoughts seem to come from nowhere. You know…like “Sorry honey, I just wasn’t thinking.” Thoughts can be weird, intellectual, sexual (although that may be from another brain source still being studied), nonsensical, informative, etc. The best thing said about thoughts was from Martin Heidegger, philosopher and thinker of thoughts.
He said. “What is most thought-provoking in these thought-provoking times is that we are still not thinking. “

Yes he did say that and he didn’t say, “APRIL FOOL!”  He meant it.

By the way, HAPPY APRIL FOOLS DAY, a day that should have been my birthday.
